Android Pie Smartphones List: Will My Phone Get Android 9 Update 2019

Now that Android 9 Pie is live, the first thing that comes to mind is when our Android device will receive the new Android update. The exciting new features of Android Pie and the new gesture navigation is not something anyone would want to miss.

However, given the track record of smartphone manufacturers, latest Android versions have never delivered right away. Don’t you remember how much time Android 8.1 Oreo took to arrive on your device? And yet, it is behind from Android Nougat in terms of Android share percentage.

It’s entirely imaginable while your device would get Android P, Google may have already released Android Q beta version (I wonder what Android Q will be called).

To overcome Android fragmentation, Google has come up with solutions like Android One and Google Beta program, there is only so much it can do. At the end of the day, it’s between the device and the device maker.

(I hope your device maker is generous enough like OnePlus, giving away Android 9 Pie update to all its devices.)

That’s out of the way, let’s move on with our Android 9 Pie device list. We will be continuously updating this article as soon as we see any new official announcements.

9. LG

Korean electronic is gaining new heights, but its mobile division is continuously dropping with low sales every year. Although many LG devices are eligible for Android Pie, their hopeless phone market is prompting a much-delayed update rollout.

Presently, LG G7 One (Android One) is the only company’s device which has received the Android Pie update. And the year is ending, LG has still not commented on which phones will get the Android 9 update.

Meanwhile, we like to think these would probably be one to get Android P in coming future – LG V35 ThinQ, LG Q Stylus, LG V30S Thin Q, LG G7 Thin Q, LG Q7, LG V30+

HTC is steadily losing out in the smartphone market. In fact, many HTC smartphones have already faded out against back-to-back releases from Chinese companies, which is why the company is now trying to hold off its loyal consumers with Android 9 update.

Other device manufacturers delivering Android Pie:

Blackberry

in 2018, Blackberry launched their Android phone – Blackberry Key Two. So we would likely see Android Pie on the device, but I cannot say the same for Blackberry Key One.

As of now, there is no information regarding the Android Pie update in Blackberry Key models.

Vivo

Vivo confirmed that it will release Android Pie on its devices in Q4 2018. However, many devices are yet to receive the update. its devices work on Funtouch OS based on Android.

Vivo X21 and X21 UD were part of the Google beta program, so it is apparent that they will receive it first. Other Vivo devices that are eligible for Android Pie: Vivo Nex A, Nex S and Vivo V9.

Oppo

As of now, speculation is that Oppo Find X, Oppo R15, and Oppo R15 Pro will receive the Android P. Since Oppo R15 was part of the beta program, it is likely to get the update first. The company has yet to comment on Android P updates on its devices.
